Measured machine polishing for swirl marks, wash marring, oxidation and suitable light scratches. The correction level is chosen from the paint in front of us, not from a package name alone.

Service first. Location second. The same preparation standard wherever the van is working.
The honest diagnosis
Swirl marks and holograms sit in the clear coat and scatter light, which is why otherwise clean paint can look grey or hazy. Machine polishing levels a microscopic amount of that surface to restore clarity. The safe amount depends on the paint depth, the defect and the history of the panel.
A focused single-stage machine polish is the sensible starting point for light wash marks and oxidation. An Enhancement Detail spends longer refining moderate defects and includes a higher protection specification. Multi-stage Correction is reserved for paint that genuinely needs repeated compounding and finishing passes.
Edinburgh jobs need enough room to open doors and work every panel, plus a surface where cables, machines and lighting can be used safely. A driveway or private bay is usually suitable. A narrow public street or busy shared car park often is not. We check before booking rather than improvise around the vehicle.
Treatment options
These are the strongest matches for Edinburgh. Prices come from the main service catalogue and rise only where vehicle size, condition or the treatment specification changes.

A separate cosmetic touch-in option when stone chips are part of the problem; polishing alone cannot replace missing paint.

The treatment standard stays fixed. Access, vehicle condition and the space available determine whether the mobile setup is right for the job.
Clean daylight photos reveal general swirls and oxidation. They cannot show every resprayed panel, deep mark or thin edge, so final expectations are set after close inspection and paint-depth checks where required.
If a mark has passed through the clear coat, polishing cannot safely erase it. We reduce what can be corrected and point out what needs touch-in or bodyshop repair instead of thinning good paint to chase one defect.
Freshly refined paint needs a sealant or coating. The entry service includes protection; enhancement and correction packages offer longer-term ceramic options when the conditions and budget support them.
The VDS treatment plan
01
Send the Edinburgh postcode, vehicle details and honest photos. We identify the likely service and flag anything that needs an inspection.
02
You get a clear treatment, price basis, expected result and access requirements. If a smaller package will solve it, that is what we recommend.
03
We complete the agreed work, inspect the finish and hand the vehicle back with the aftercare that applies to the service—not a generic sales script.

Practical coverage
This is a useful coverage guide, not a promise that every street suits every service. Postcode, access, weather and—for coating work—shelter are confirmed before booking.
Cloudy headlights, engine-bay grime or a persistent cabin smell may need a separate treatment. Send your postcode and photos; we confirm access, suitability and availability before booking.
Straight answers
No. Clear-coat defects can often be reduced or removed, but a scratch through the colour coat needs paint repair. Safe correction preserves the panel rather than chasing a perfect number at the expense of clear-coat thickness.
Our focused machine-polishing service starts at £150. Enhancement starts at £300 and multi-stage Correction at £450. Vehicle size, paint condition and the result being targeted determine the appropriate level and final quote.
A focused machine polish is normally four to eight hours. Enhancement takes roughly eight to twelve hours, while multi-stage Correction can take one to two days. The vehicle and working space need to remain available for the full appointment.
Paint-depth readings are part of the multi-stage Correction service and are used wherever the history or condition makes them relevant. They help identify repainted or unusually thin areas and keep the treatment within a safer working range.
